Discover the Manavgat Region outside the touristic areas. On this trip you will explore the facinating ancient city of Lyrbe (also known as Seleukia), the beautiful nature with green forrests, the lakes (dam lakes), Manavgat river and the small but beautiful Manavgat Waterfall. We will visit local villages, go shopping in a farmers market in Manavgat, swim in the beautiful lake and visit a local mosque.
We pick you up from your hotel or home at 09:30. First we drive to Manavgat where we visit a local street market where the farmers sell their fruit and vegetables. In Manavgat we also visit a local mosque. After this we drive to the village called Bucaksihlar. After a tea break we continue through the forrest until we come to the ancient city of Lyrbe. It is a small Roman city where many of the ruins are in really good shape. This is one of my favourite ancient cities in Turkey (and we have got many). It is beautiful and peaceful with nearly no people. After this visit we continue to the Manavgat Dam Lake. Here we make a lunch break in a family run restaurant by the lake. While the food is being prepared you can enjoy a swim in the lake. The naturearound the lake and the colour of the lake is so beautiful. A perfect place to relax, sunbathe, birdwatch and so on. Before we turn back to Manavgat we also visit the upper Dam, Oymapinar Dam. This is the biggest Dam in the Mediterraenan Region. On the way back to Manavgat we visit Manavgat Waterfall .
