Hiking On The Lycian Way
The Lycian Way is the most famous walking trail in Turkey and one of the most beautiful long distance walks in the world. You walk through the ancient region of Lycia on a spectacular coastal trail. Lycia is the historical name of the western part of the Mediterranean coast in Turkey. This is an area where the mountains rise steeply from the sea covered by pine and juniper forests.
The Lycian Way is a 540 km long marked footpath from Fethiye to Antalya. The trail consists of old Roman roads, old footpaths and mule trails. We will walk through the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, explore small and big Roman ancient cities, enjoy national parks and visit remote mountain villages. Walking is a healthy low impact way to travel and it takes you to places which are normally hard to visit and feels far away from the main tourist centers.
