DAY 1
We pick you up from your hotel or home at 08:00 and begin our journey on the coastline road eastwards enjoying the stunning views of the Mediterranean sea on the right, the Taurus mountains on the left and small banana farms dotted along the Alanya road which this region is famous for.
On this coastline road trip we drive through Alanya and Gazipasa where we make small breaks before we arrive in Anamur.
In Anamur we visit the ancient city of Anemurium, a beautiful hillside city next to the sea with old aqueducts, city walls, sport halls, Roman baths, Byzantine churches and a vast necropolis. After lunch in a local restaurant in Anamur we take a visit to the Mamure castle. This is situated in the east part of Anamur just by the sea, and is one of the best preserved mediaeval castles in Turkey.
We continue our road eastwards and make our next stop near Aydincik to visit Gilindire Cave.This is a very interesting cave just by the sea with amazing cave formations and a small beautiful lake hidden inside.
Back on the road we continue to Silifke where we check in our hotel for a freshen up before we drive to one of the many bays to eat in one of the famous fish restaurants in the town.
DAY 2
After breakfast we will visit Silifke centre and castle before we start our way back, this time through the mountain road.
Our first stop will be by Yerköprü Waterfall, a natural oasis said to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Turkey. We continue on after to Ermenek where you find the highest dam in Turkey, a mighty 218 metres. Making a stop by the dam before we take a short visit in Ermenek town where we will see the old mosque and traditional old houses where we will have lunch.
After lunch we will continue the mountain roads towards Alanya to stop by the stunning canyon, naturally formed by wind erosion, ice and water, the Sapadere Canyon. A nature lover’s paradise where we take a walk through the canyon before we begin our drive back on the coastal road to Side.
